Artist Biography & Statement
“My paintings explore the spiritual experience of oneness between self and cosmos. All is One. All forms, all phenomenon, are symbols - carriers of higher meaning, codes awaiting to be deciphered. Through gnosis (intuitive knowing), we decipher the symbolic fabric of the universe, and return to the source, where all things flows with nature. ”
Jia Liu is a Chinese artist based in Canada. She holds an MFA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2021), and a BFA in Visual Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
Working primarily with oil, watercolor, and acrylic, Liu explores the idea of the mystery and the unknown. Her practice is rooted in spirituality and transcendental experiences, combining both Eastern and Western metaphysics and occultisms in her paintings, along with mystical symbols, geometry, UFO mythology, and self-invented fictional/pseudo languages. Through an intuitive and self-developed visual language—blending abstraction, surrealism, and symbolism—she investigates the boundaries between the material and spiritual, the known and the unknown, illusion and reality. Her paintings evoke otherworldly realms and inner landscapes, inviting viewers to question the nature of perception and being.

刘嘉（1996年生），现居加拿大温哥华的华人艺术家。2021年毕业于伦敦艺术大学中央圣马丁艺术与设计学院的纯艺术硕士专业，本科就读于艾米丽卡尔艺术与设计大学视觉艺术系。她主要以油画、水彩与丙烯为媒介，持续探索“神秘”与“未知”之域。她的创作根植于灵性与超验体验，融合东西方玄学、神秘主义与隐秘学传统，在画面中交织自创的象征符号、几何、UFO神话与虚构/伪语言文字。
刘嘉以一种直觉驱动、自我发展而出的视觉语汇——结合抽象、超现实与象征主义——探究物质与精神、已知与未知、幻觉与现实之间的边界。她的画作如同意识通道，营造出超越尘世的异象空间与内在景观，引导观者重新思索感知的本质与存在的意义。
“我的绘画探索一种灵性体验——自我与宇宙合一的状态。一切万有，万物归一。一切形式与现象，皆为象征符号——承载着更高层次意义的媒介，皆是等待被解读的宇宙密码。透过灵知（直觉性的内在知晓），我们得以读解宇宙深层的象征织网，并逐步回归源头——在那里，万物与自然同流共振。”
